Local artists + unique plays + community = theatrical AMAZINGNESS!
CAAC - The Lantern Theatre is the name, bringing awesome theatre to Central Arkansas is the game! Founded in 1973 and still kicking to this day, The Lantern loves nothing more than fostering community connections through theatre. We produce a healthy balanced diet of classic plays, hit musicals, children’s theatre, partnerships with other amazing theatre groups, and original works written by our Playwright’s Group. We focus on stories that have the potential not only to show off the amazing talent in Central Arkansas, but to support conversations and ideas that are important to our community at the time.

“I had no idea when my friends asked me to go see ANNIE KIDS with the Lantern Theatre in Conway that they were embracing so many children with different abilities and breaking down the barriers that keep them from participating in events. In fact, they had some actors on the spectrum in leading roles, and they did an amazing job. I loved seeing what these young dramatists could do, and I was thrilled that I was invited to be there for it.”
— Broadway World’s Teresa Bertram, awarding the Lantern her 2023 Inclusivity Award in Arkansas theatre
